Replaced carpet today!

SO I RIPPED OUT MY NASTY GRAYISH/BLUEISH CARPET AND REPLACE IT WITH A BRAND NEW BLACK ONE. HERE ARE SOME PICS. IM STILL TRYING TO FIGURE WHAT IM GOING TO DO ABOUT THE DOOR PANELS. THE BENCH SEAT WILL BE DROPPED OFF TOMORROW TO GET RE-UPHOLSTERED. (THE P.O. CUT THE HOLES IN THE DOOR NOT ME)





in this last pic, its a tag that was stapled to the bottom of the old carpet. anyone ever heard of this company? i tried to do some research but came up empty. just curious thats all.....

What brand carpet? And where did you buy it . I have one on order from my upholster shop. It cost me $175.00 He is doing my seat for $475.00. He does real good work. I sprayed my dash, and door panels black.

I sprayed my dash, and all trim pieces but im skeptical on the door panels since they have cloth portions.

Ask your upholsterer to put some vinyl or velour cloth (if you like factory look) on those panel cloth areas. I went with vinyl and sprayed it with SEM paint to match the rest of the interior. I don't like the cloth inserts because when you get in and out of the truck with dirty hands (like when you are working on the truck or actually using the truck as a truck) the cloth gets dirty. Vinyl is more durable.

Awesome swap. That is who I plan to go through for the molded vinyl mat for my '81. I'm too dirty for carpet.

@clos, I was able to reuse the original with no problems.

@altec, Thanks man, To tell the truth, I should have gone with a rubber mat of some sort. I work construction for one. I also take the family to the beach almost every other weekend. I'm not too sure what I was thinking at the time lol.

J.P. Stevens & Co was a big player in the textile industry. The company's plants produced cotton, wool and synthetic yarns and fabrics as well as products such as towels, carpets, hosiery, glass fabrics and sheets. The company was bought out in 1989 and the automotive division passed to JPS Textile Group. JPS then sold the division to Foamex International in 2004. Foamex itself was then bought and renamed to FXI Foamex Innovations in 2009. Looks like FXI is still in business, and still cranking out automotive related products.

I use my truck as a work truck also, and I find that Huskyliners are better than the stock vinyl flooring. I added Walmart treadmill mat on the remaining exposed carpeted areas - carpet should stay looking new for a long time and it cleans up easily. Best floor covering option, IMHO.

Thanks for posting this up, looks like I'll get the carpet for my sub from them, really reasonable prices. Are you still happy with the product? Also, can I PM you about spraying your interior parts, also, where did you get the guages?

Yeah I am still very satisfied with the product. I get compliments all the time on the interior. feel free to PM me with any questions. The white gauges came from whitegauges.net i also went with the blue super LEDS for better lighting
