before you buy ANYTHING,look over every single vacume hose.The PCV hose that runs from the TB to the valve cover should be replaced if it's the original,regaurdless of it's condition.Then,and only then,would I throw a coil at it.
Pulling codes is an old wives tale,it will only be productive if you have a check engine light.And even at that,the computer won't just "tell you" exactly what the issue is.
