Question Removal of Control Arm Bushings

After reading the article in www.73-87.com on how to remove control arm busings I have a question for someone that has done this before. Will I only be trying to remove the inner metal bushing and the rubber surrounding it? Also, Do I remove any of the metal on the outside of the rubber? I was using a air chissel to try to get the rubber out and it is not working very easy. Any helpful hints?

As the author of the article you read, I have done this.

Chisel the outer metal shell out. The rubber bushing may come out with it and it may not. Either way, once the shell is out, it's easy to get the rest off one the shaft is out out of the control arm.

It's not really hard. Just takes a little time to do.
