Played with PS a bit more- stuck some Coy's on the truck, exactly like what I had on the Blazer. If I go this route again, it will be with a twist- unlike anything anyone else has. Of course, that's what I thought when i put the Coy's on the Blazer, now they're everywhere...

Nice truck brotha, and thank you for removing the 90's step side bed. The way the cab and bed flow together (especially on a fleet side) is one of the most beautiful lines on these trucks. Why anybody would put a newer bed on I don't know, great job thus far keep us posted!

Agreed. Gotta price check TT2s vs Coy's. I think they're actually pretty close these days. Looking at 18s or 20s. Problem with 18s is finding tires, plus the 20s just look 'right'...

Was reminded, by the fact that we're headed to GoodGuys Lonestar Nats in a couple of weeks, that I had done some work on the truck in preparation for the trip, but had failed to update. Here's some crappy cell phone pics of the insulation I installed last week. It is from a guy I found on the HAMB, who goes by the name lobucrod. The insulation is supposed to cut down 97% of radiant heat up to 450*. From the difference I can feel on the firewall and floorboards, where it used to burn your feet, now exhibits no temperature change; I'd say it works- and quite well. I love finding cheap alternatives that actually perform...

I bought two 40 footers- coulda gotten by with 1 if I hadn't done the back wall. I liked the tape, but could just as easily have used something else. I bought the big roll and have a TON left over- 3 or 4 small rolls would have been plenty. It will come in handy at some point, I'm sure...

Thanks for the link its early today and I must be slow but did you buy 2 40 sq. ft. rolls and one big roll of tape? This looks to be a nice cheap alternative to dynamat. I'm very interested.

Yes, and have plenty of both left over. If I had it to do again, I'd prolly buy less tape, but it was nice not having to worry about running out. I can't really comment on the sound deadening properties, as I used peel 'n' seal first, but the heat blocking is awesome.

I just ordered some also. I have fat mat down now (almost done anyway) and will lay this over it. BTW, nothing wrong with bright shiny wheels on a patina truck either. Just saying...

Haha- yeah, I'm really having trouble with the wheel selection... I think you'll be happy with the combination of the two insulators.

They suggest taping the seams. I suppose you could do the edges too- I just ran mine out to the edges of the panels...
