Cowl Area Leaks
In a post awhile ago I mentioned I thought my kick panel air vents leaked in a heavy rain. I was wrong.
It is actually leaking from the cowl area. The water is coming in at the top of the dashboard from the windshield area. It comes down the sides just aft of the kick panel vents. Rubber seal on the windshield appears ok. Hard to tell what is under the cowl, the screws holding it and the rubber cowl seal are both rusted in and painted over. *Anyone know the size of those 'lil things so I can have them on hand after I strip the heads and have to drill/easy out them out? *Anyone had this leak? Any way to fix it easily (now come on, quit laughin' so hard)? Thanks for any help/ideas.

something you might check(if you haven't already) before you pull the cowl cover off,
up on the firewall , right in the groove that the plastic wire gutter sets in, is a body seam. it has little if any seam sealer in it and just a few spot welds holding it together. i have seen a few of these with a broke spot weld or two and the seam is gapped open, due to rust out. its kinda hard to see with the hood on, but wouldn't it be great if that were the leak and you could fix it without pulling the cover. hope that helps. tony
