Kev's '67 c10 "Green Machine"
I'm new to the forum, but after spending countless hours looking through other builder's projects, i think i have found my home. This is my '67 C10 short bed and future Resto-Mod build thread.
Havent started the build yet, due to being deployed in Iraq (2 more months yay!), but i figured i would start the thread now and maybe learn some tips/ get some ideas from you guys. Last edited by VA72C10; 08-31-2011 at 12:40 PM. Reason: forgot pics |

Re: Kev's '69 c10 "Green Machine"
A little background info on the truck: In July i found this gem on CL in Elkins, Arkansas and decided i couldn't live without it, so i had my dad go inspect it, take some pics and ultimately bring it home. (I would have done it myself, but as mentioned before, i'm currently over 8,000 miles away) Here are a few more pics.

Thanks again VA, can't believe i made that mistake! Thankyou for the kind words, they help keep me sane and looking forward to my build when it's 125 degrees! Currently scouring the internet for parts and ideas off of other's builds.

Re: Kev's '67 c10 "Green Machine"
Here's the idea for the paint scheme:
Paint: HOK Lime Gold over Planet Green. looks like: i really like this color, but want to do something like this with it: except stop the gloss or satin black (can't decide) right behind the cab. any suggestions? what was done before i got it -Built GM350/TH350 -3.73 Gears -B&M Shifter -Custom Wooden Gauge Bezel W/Autometer Speedo, Tach, Volt, Fuel, Oil Pressure and Water Temp Guages -Custom rear small glass w/ "Green Machine" and the Chevy logo centered in between two panes. -Interior work Build list soon to come! |

Re: Kev's '67 c10 "Green Machine"
well, funny you mention it, an orange and black 67-72 is actually what gave me the paint scheme idea! it's definitely still an option.

Re: Kev's '67 c10 "Green Machine"
Alright guys after doing a ton of research on quality versus price, i have made my decision on where this build is headed. The tough choice was between Hotchkis complete suspension upgrade and the suspension products of Porterbuilt. The quality of Nate's products at Porterbuilt is just amazing, but i am not big on the whole Air bag setups. I just read about their new coil over setup and am hooked!! Once it's available to the masses it will be on like Donkey Kong.

Re: Kev's '67 c10 "Green Machine"
You have about the same story I had with getting my truck. I found it on CL(while in Iraq), had the pops go check it out and ended up buying it... Check out my build man! Im definitely watching this one.

Re: Kev's '67 c10 "Green Machine"
The only issue with losing the upper color at the back of the cab is that you will have to break the body line. While plenty of people have done just that, in my opinion it looks odd and out of place if a paint transition is not along a body line, especially on a truck with such a definite line as the 67-72. The bed portion of the body line ends up looking naked.
