Why was the site down?
Has anyone explained why the site was down, or am I blind and just don't see it?
I don't guess it really matters, but it would be nice to know what's going on. Man, whatever it was, I hope it don't happen again. I was bad going through withdrawal symptoms.

My guess is it had something to do with the blaster worm that was going around. My ISP was shut down for a while too. The virus didn't make it to the main frame, but did effect some of their remote servers. They shut the system down ad made reapirs before it did more damage....

The blaster virus brought alot down. I suggest that every user here update Windows in order to avoid getting infected. http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/ If you use Apple, Linux, or any other alternative operating system, you are safe.

I run Windows update about every other day, manually. I already had the patch installed from a month ago. I can't believe people let their PC go and not update things. Especially Microsoft things.
Wasn't only Windows XP, 2000, and NT affected by this worm. I guess the servers who used Microsoft software was the ones it got. |

The site going down made me think, maybe there should be a back-up group just for the times the site is down. So at least we'll know what's going on. Maybe a Yahoo group?

I went to the Harley truck (Ford) website that I normally go to. No one over there could tell me why this site was down. I don't know what's wrong with those guys....

I thought that's what may have happened. My PC got nailed with the worm virus 2 days ago. I couldn't figure out what was going on - kept rebooting my computer. Here's a link to the site that I used to get rid of it. Seems to be working.

Hehe, such a simple little virus too :P The guy puts a registry entry to the effect of I love someone, Bill - stop making money and fix your software that points to a small executable in your system directory, lol I laughed when I saw that one :P Easily removed, just find it and delete it and thats it :P
