Grill conversion
I have a 1972 blazer and am interested in doing a grill conversion to the 1970 style grill. Does anyone know what this will entail. I don't believe I would need a whole new front clip... Any ideas?

Re: Grill conversion
Different lighting harness since the turn lights are in the grill. Different bumper for the same reason. Existing fenders will work and you will need a bowtie to put on the hood

Re: Grill conversion
I am not 100% positive ( and I am too tired to go out in the garage and look) but I think the position of the hood latch handle is slightly different for the 69-70 as opposed to the 71-72. The center grille support may also be a little different. Randy (TeeItup) will know for sure because he has parted dozens and dozens.

I changed my 71/72 grille to a 69/70. year specific parts are: the center grille support, hood latch assembly, turn signal assembly's and bumper. Get that stuff and it will all bolt right on.

Re: Grill conversion
yep what bobbyk said. i did this swap too. i think the 69/70 grill looks a little meaner/aggressive.

Re: Grill conversion
I agree with the list of BobbyK and Big Yellow . One last thing needed are different OUTER bumber brackets ! The placement is slightly different because of the fact there are no signal lights in the bumper.
I made the same swap and added billet inserts from LMC. |

Re: Grill conversion
i didn't know that about the signal lights. when i got my truck it didn't have a bumper or bumper brackets for that matter.
