WTB Tach Dash

O.K. guys, the Post Office managed to "lose" a restored tach dash I bought last month, so I need to find another one for my kid's truck. I saw one the other day that had a boost gauge where the vaccuum gauge went, I'm not sure if that was a retrofit or what, but that would be perfect with the blower motor that's going in it. If you have one for sale, please email me pics and price to nik@backalleyhotrods.com . I'd prefer restored as I have no idea on how to restore one.

I did find out something interesting from the Post Master the last time they lost an item, just because you have delivery confirmation, it DOES NOT mean that it was delivered where it was supposed to go, just that the mail carier delivered it somewhere. The only way to ensure it gets to where you want it to go is with signature confirmation. With customer service like that, it boggles my mind that they can't figure out why they are losing money.

Re: WTB Tach Dash

Wow, that stinks! I know lynnfield is selling a restored tach on the board right now. I have several I'm working on but none completed at the moment. I can also take your existing cluster and add a tach (use your speedo and other gauges if they are in good shape to keep the stock gauges) The boost gauge wasn't factory. There were vac and air pressure but never boost....I see trans temp and clocks added in that extra spot a lot too...

Re: WTB Tach Dash

Do you know what the boost gauge would have come out of? It kind of had the original look to it. I'd really like to be able to monitor boost with that blower on there. I'd rather buy one that is restored and ready to go, mine isn't in that great of shape and would rather just R&R. What do you get for your restored sets? I'll have to give Lynnfield a call and see what he has available too.

Re: WTB Tach Dash

Here's Lynnfield's thread. I get 350-450 depending on condition and options for a tach setup and 40 for an original tach wiring harness if you need that too.

Re: WTB Tach Dash

I have an all original one with an "air pressure" gauge in it. I think the air pressure gauges came from big tucks that used air brakes, i think it might work as a boost gauge though. It is complete and in good condition except for the printed circuit will need replaced. The bezel is un-cracked, but the chrome is deteriorated on the edges. It would be a great candidate to fix up. The faces of the gauges and the needles are bright without any aging. I would take 200 plus shipping for it. Let me know if you are interested in seeing a picture.

if laplander doesn't want it I'd take it pending pictures. I got a nice one from Randy but UPS broke the bezel and lens...and the lens isn't reproduced.

Re: WTB Tach Dash

Here are the pics. The gauge faces and needles are in really excellent condition as is the lens. The only things needed to make this look new are a printed circuit and a new bezel. Technically the cluster is untested as I never had a chance to hook it up in my suburban before I sold it. The guy I bought it from got it from a running truck that he bought and said all the guages were working properly. He kept the printed circuit for another cluster he had. $200 is a little less than I paid for it. Let me know, leplander is first then va72c10.
Thanks
John

VA72C10, go ahead and grab it. I'm going to have to wait for one that's complete and ready to plug in and go.

Re: WTB Tach Dash

Did you find pics of the boost gauge setup? If so I can try to find one to match and make a nice setup for you.
