Needs headers for '67 327 w/ '96 Vortec Heads
I've got a '67 327 sb that I'm trying to pick headers for. A trusted source has suggested a collector size, tube size, flange size, and coating. The only dilemma I have now is shopping online I don't know whether to pick headers according to the body of my '67 c20, or according to the '96 Vortec heads on the engine. I don't want to buy headers that fit the body style but don't bolt up, or vice versa. Thanks guys!

Re: Needs headers for '67 327 w/ '96 Vortec Heads
Vortec heads have no signifigant differences in the exhast mounting compared to the "standard" SBC heads.... I have run them on my 307 with factory ramhorns as well as headers...
My current engine is a 96 L31 Vortec running 88-95 stainless chevy truck headers with no issues.

So I should shop sbc and body style, but the year is irrelevant?

As said above I too have run Vortec's on an earlier motor[70model 350] in a s-10 and had no sealing problems what so ever. Out of sake of disscussion what heads are you gonna use? The one for a 305 or 350?

Re: Needs headers for '67 327 w/ '96 Vortec Heads
Yes, I realize I can put vortec heads on an older small block. That part is finished, painted, and ready to drop in. I'm trying to shop for headers and I'm assuming that not every single pair of headers that mounts to my small block will fit correctly around my components and have the correct height. Am I wrong? Can I just buy anything that says it fits a 327?

Should be able to buy headers for a 67-72 truck with a smallblock and not have any problem
