Static or Bags
I would like some help deciding if i should bag my new longbed truck or do a static drop. I have a 700r4 with a big block. i do what to use the new shock relocation kit from No Limit and a few of their other parts but i cant decide on springs or bags

I hear ya. We're swapping the JT to air soon, droped with springs has a tough time when we go to powder coat or the welding shop with a load of gas bottles. I like Early Classics springs the best, but we are working on getting some made, but it's a ***** getting what we want, and I'm just not willing to go to china to be price competetive. Either choice, use the best parts and you'll be happy.

Do both. Static drop the front & swap bags into the rear so you can be low & adjust for capacity when desired.

Static drop. All you gotta' do is blow a bag or air line (even if you have spare parts with you) and you'll be messing up your best clothes and pissing off your wife/girlfriend as she sits along side the road, instead of sitting in a nice restaurant sipping her favorite adult beverage (with an umbrella in it) looking forward to snuggling up to you in the hot new movie that just opened at the local movie theater. Static drop...it's an easy choice.

I used standard 6 cylinder coils up front, 2.5" drop spindles, and bagged the rear because it is cheap, easy , and adjustable. I made a mistake and got bags that are too big for the rear but will be perfect up front so I will bag the front later and go to the proper 9000 series tapered bag to get the rear ride like it should be. (using too large a bag make you run 20-25lbs of pressure) that is too low, you need to be in the 50psi range to get the ride correct and also pay attention to knowing where you need to be in the middle of the bag (kind of like setting the sag on a motorcycle) a air bag has a height it is supposed to run at, it has a minimum and a max height also....pay attention to these things and you can get it right and not cost a fortune........I have seen the firstone tapered bags for sale for as little as $140.00 per pair, hook them up in place of your rear coils , connect with a schrader valve and at least you can adjust the stance of your truck......without buying 5 sets of coils, or cutting them off to adjust them.

I will reuse the bags I have now on the front of this truck or another so I am not really out anything but the ability to adjust the rear at will is very nice.
