What did you sale to fund a 67-72 project!!!
This should be a great thread for long gone items that went to the cause!!
I traded my 49 Studebaker, sold my 68 VW, the engine out of my wrecked motorcycle, and alot of parts from my truck!

Re: What did you sale to fund a 67-72 project!!!
Sold a 72 Buick Skylark a few years ago when I bought my 71 GSX tribute. Sat on the money until we traded in our Silverado on an SUV for the wife. Told her I needed a truck (doesn't every man?) to replace the Silverado, and the rest is history.

Re: What did you sale to fund a 67-72 project!!!
Let's see.
One year ago: The canoe and $3000 for a completely redone 71 chassis and suspension.... ECE 4/6 drop, new power steering box 350/350, 2 cabs (68 and 71), one useable seat (going away), new slotted/drilled disks, nice bed and complete '71 front clip. The money came (around the corner) from the sale of pics #2 and 3. The wheels and tires came from the sale of pic no. 4. I couldn't have justified the project if I hadn't sold pic no. 5. And if I'm not careful with dumping too much into it, , I could still lose the next two pics.

I sold my 71 FJ40 to fund my 72 Burb project. I'll have another one some day, but I wanted/needed the burb more than the FJ at the time. |

Re: What did you sale to fund a 67-72 project!!!
I traded my 96 2 Door Chevy Tahoe STRAIGHT ACROSS,
For my 72 GMC Shortbed Fleetside, back in April 09. My Tahoe BB'd for about $2900.00 and the 72 GMC was about $5000.00. On top of that, the Tranny in my Tahoe wouldn't go into Reverse half the time, unless you sat there for 30 seconds or more. But the Guy knew that, and we were BOTH happy with our new acusitions. Actually after selling my 67 C-109 (back in 2005), I told my Wife I wanted another 67-72 Chevy/GMC Truck. SHE was the one that suggested putting a "Trade For" ad on our Local Craigs List. Worked like a Charm!

Re: What did you sale to fund a 67-72 project!!!
So far I have not had to sell anything to fund my truck restoration. I have however taken a part-time job which helps fund it.
