Is now the time for drop spindles?
Ive had a 3/5 spring drop in my '67 for years now with drums all around. Now that I'm getting around to putting on a disc/disc setup I'm not sure if I should go with 2.5 drop spindles. The front end of my truck is all apart so now is the time to make up my mind.
I need to mention that I already have a stock set of '79 spindles blasted & painted ........ready to go on. Should I spend the money on the drop spindles or run the stock spindles/drop springs since I already have them? |

Re: Is now the time for drop spindles?
Its up to you completely. but you are right, now that it is apart now would be the best time to throw drop spindles on, if your gonna do it.
I did the rebuild front suspension last year, now I am looking for drop spindles.....oh well.

Re: Is now the time for drop spindles?
Absolutely! My preference is spindle first, then spring. Since you already have the springs, and the truck is apart, just do it.

Re: Is now the time for drop spindles?
I guess the reason I'm just not sure of header clearence.....those friggin hedman long tubes I have already scrape from time to time as it is now. I hate 'em but I paid good $$$ for them since they are ceramic coated. They look good, just hang down too low.
If I go lower (and I want to) my hand will be forced to change headers. I already went through a battle to find a set that would clear the factory clutch linkage rod. |

Re: Is now the time for drop spindles?
Do it. I used bad front wheel bearings in my '69 to justify discs, then drop spindles were the same price, then bags where cheaper than springs. The wife had no idea, worked awesome.
