bed cover
i was thinking about building a bed cover that fits flush with the bed rails and not on to of the bed what all would i have to do to accomplesh this

You could bolt on some 1inch angle iron to your bedsides and use 3/4inch plywood as a base. Then some 1inch foam for padding, then cover it with some vinyl. Then, if you wanted to make it permanent to the box, just drill some holes thru the underside of the angle iron, then secure some woodscrews into the plywood.
Or if you wanted to hinge it, use a heavy duty piano type hinge across the front bed panel or half way down the cover, if you so decided. Just my 2 cents. Hope this lil idea helps you out, if that's the route you want to go. |
