67-68 cam swap

Ok this isn't really info on the cam swap itself. So, the reason it's in the 67-72 forum is because this question is 67-72 based.

A few weeks ago, my t-stat stuck and my engine overheated pretty bad, and I've damaged something internally. Board member Woodridge(aka Woody) came over last night to help me find the problem. The prognosis is a few wiped cam lobes and a few weak valvesprings. So, I'm in for a cam swap.

The question is, has anyone changed a small block V8 cam in a 67-68 truck with the engine in the forward engine mount position? I need to know if there's any obstacles to get in the way of the cam being removed or reinstalled. The reason I ask this is because I once swapped cams in an 86 GMC and there was a bar dead center of the radioator core support that kept the cam from completelty coming out.

I may be doing the swap this weekend, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: 67-68 cam swap

I did one on a 350 this summer on my 72. I did have to remove the radiator to get it out.
