carb spacer
what does everyone thing about useing a carb spacer? whats the pros/cons of using one? If anyone has used one how did they like it? How much of a spacer we be good 1,2,3 inches. sry that might be a little confusing but i was thinking of using one with that 350 stock crate that im going to purchase, i dont know what kind of intake and carb im goin to get. any suggestions on that?

cant find anyone around here that carries one for a Q-jet, they have the square bore.. but not spread bore.. have heard good things about them, never seen anyone with more than 1"... if you are going with 3" you might as well go with a tunnel ram intake..

I have one on mine 1" and it does help. I would look at a 2" rather than 3". The 3" would act too much like a tunnel ram especialy if you have a tall intake. What intake were you looking at running?

i had a 1" open spacer between my QJet and a stock intake. absolutely killed low end power by making the setup act pretty much like a single plane intake. if you have a dual plane intake now, get a 4 hole spacer.

they work.....
get one made of wood...or phonolic...not metal... first.... with the non-metal type it works to cool the carb... keeps the heat from transfering from the intake... second...it atomizes the fuel mixture better.... third...helps high end rpm's HERES MY 2" I PAINTED IT RED

i was thinking of using a Performer RPM Air-Gap intake but i dont know im still looking around

I'm running a 4-hole 1" spacer under my Holley, on top of my Offy 360 intake. It did help a bit on the low end power. I like it, I also am thinking of trying a 2" next. If you've got a PAW catalog they've got an artical about different spacers in it, that is fairly good.
