Laying frame exhaust help....

Hay guys Im needing some help from all you guys with realy low trucks I got a 62 swb with Air ride when aired out Im about 2" off the ground is there a good way to run the exhoust maybe outside the frame rails????

couple ideas..
fender well headers
just route the exhaust through the fender well and then behind the rocker...

seems like you should be able to punch a hole in the frame rail, and run the exhaust through there, I would box and plate the section w/ the hole though...

I run a set of swept back shorty headers and positioned my collector transition just under the front frame kick up, so that I could route my 3-inch exhaust to the outside of the frame. This way I could run the entire exhaust above the bottom of the frame...I had similar concerns as you about clearance.

I was going to run shorty headers then turn out behind control arms but I ended up going with full length headers and through the crossmember then out the side of the frame.. My front crossmember is about that low but the back limits me with the stock floor.

Any competent muffler shop should be able to route it anyway you want.

Do you have a part number for those headers? What motor are you running?

you guys have it easy. I have to figure out how to route 4" diesel exhaust down the passenger side, and dump it as far away from the cab as possible.

A 65 swb on bags with a 12v cummins. I'm in east Orlando. But I'm building the truck at my dad's shop in winterhaven.

I'm running a Pontiac...they are the Hedman Husslers for the D-port heads.

I've done a couple ISB conversions and routing the downpipe from the turbine is not too bad since it is on the passenger side of the block. One we did as a stack through the bed and the other was routed on the outside of the frame rail, exiting in front of the passenger rear tire. The Cummins exhaust is a lot simpler than the PS and Duramax conversions.
