1972 A/C A6 to R4 conversion advise
I'm almost done with my serpentine conversion. Last item is dealing with the compressor change. Old compressor A6 retrofitted to 134 is cooling great but must go. The serpentine system comes with a R4 compressor. I'm looking for some advise from those in the know or have done this. What do I need to do/buy/adapt to make this work? Can any competent A/C shop do this conversion?

You will need new hoses. A shop should be able to make up a set for you, if this is something you would like to do yourself....or a good A/C shop (NOT Pep Boys
 ) can do the whole deal (new hoses, install, charge the system) for you. I have done a lot of A/C work on my trucks, but not using an R-4 compressor, only used the factory A-6 and the newer replacement Pro6ten from Old Air.
