Re: local auction pics

Those are some nice trucks. I especially like the yellow one.

I'm a little surprised a square body sold for that much. I didn't realize they had that much value in them.

That price seems pretty fair to me for a nice stockish square body

It would be fair to me if ...say the pope lost his virginity in this particular silverado. Then I could justify it. Otherwise it's Barrett Jackson pricing.

Seems like a great deal for the red one! And If I was looking for a nice stock square, that one looks like it'd be worth 7K...

Re: local auction pics

theres a truck here in jacksonville like that yellow and white one and the guy wants $6500.00 for it and it's not in half the shape that one is. it has rust on it, the interior is not too bad, but really it needs to sell for bout 3500.00 to 4000.00.just thought i'd put my .02 in. he's had the truck for sale now close to two years now can't sell it for what he's asking.

Re: local auction pics

That was a mighty fine auction there. Prices seemed fair. That Cheyenne Super for $6,500 was a great buy.

No,not at all. I've seen fine examples like that go for more like $10k. All we have is a picture. Does it have super crazy low miles? Is $7k a lot to pay for a pristine example of a desirable 24 year old vehicle? What late model would you get in a used car lot for that much? In '96 a '72 was this old and a clean red shortbed would have been worth over $7k and that was when you could buy a loaded diesel 4wd for $25,000. So,sometimes we get sticker shock when we aren't upon things or haven't taken all things into account.

Re: local auction pics

A clean square body is quite rare... they rusted out as soon as they splashed through the first mud puddle.
Remember, this is one of 2 vehicles that GM was regularly replacing body panels within 3 year 36,000 miles.
All kidding aside, I can kinda see it going for that. I'm obviously not a fan of the square ones, but they are getting a larger and larger following. That does look to be a very nice example, and as pointed out, 7 grand doesn't buy as much as it used to.... what kind of late model can you get for 7? I would probably rather have the square body.
Ouch... that stung saying that last part.

Re: local auction pics

Don't forget...Guys n Gals what it cost to restore a truck in this kinda condition. The amount of labor involved and the headaches it takes to have a truck look as nice as these appear to look like. So I don't really think these prices are out of line. Just the economy really makes them hard to swallow.

Re: local auction pics

Where bouts is Royal bud? Nice lineup there. The red square might be an 87. If so it's got a few things going for it like southern truck, fuel injected and OD trans, factory alloy wheels and Reddddddd. Resale red! Nice looking truck. 7 is not out of reason.
I was at the Petit Jean Mtn swap meet yesterday and an older guy had an average shape 72 Chevy long bed marked for sale @ $8500. He either thinks it's actually worth that or really isn't interested in selling but if he did that is what it would take to buy it. In other words don't bother me unless you are Really serious.

After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.
