Speedometer queston
I'm running a NV3500 5 speed tranny in my truck, this tranny has no speedometer cable output, it does have an electronic speed sensor. My question is does anyone know of a place that can convert my stock speedo over to electronic? I have seen the converter boxes but I was hoping there was another way. Thanks for any help.

that is a great question - and if someone can answer it, maybe they can answer the same question for someone with an electonic speedo T5 trans as well...
I was lucky that the swap meet find I found was already converted, but it was originally an electonic speedo. And I've been looking, but I can't find how it was converted since I never saw how it started. It LOOKS like all the builder had to do was add in a mech speedo housing and gear. I ASSSUME he also installed the drive gear on the output shaft in the rebuild. But I was surprised to note that apparently the mech housing cavity was same as electronic housing. Not sure if NV trans is the same... |
