Ordered my new wheels today

Well I finally broke down and ordered my new wheels today. A set of BLACK, KMC XD SERIES 17 x 9 REVOLVERS. Prepaid (Deposit) for 2 and will pay for the other 2 when they arrive in 2 weeks. Then I'm gonna order up one more so I'll have a matching spare.
I'll be going from a 235/85R16 tire to a 265/70R17 tire (New take offs) that I'll be getting from work for $360.00 for the set.
Over all the diameter difference is 1/10 of an inch so at 60 mph indicated by my speedo I'll actually be doing 59.8 mph according to the tire size calculator located here

Here's a pic of the wheels I'm getting...

very cool. They'll look great on your suburban. Make sure to take plenty of pictures once they're installed.

Re: Ordered my new wheels today

"THEY'RE HERE"
Picking them up tomorrow after work Now I just gotta decide which tires I want for it. LT265/70R17's(load Range E) are the size I'm wanting to get but what brand and tread style? These are going to be SUMMER TIRES only as I already have a good set of studded LT235/85R16 COOPER DISCOVERY's for the winter time with the factory center caps still.

Open to suggestions on the tires Brand? Tread?

One thing... They've gotta last at least 4-6 years.

I am a fan of these tires. I think they would look awesome on those rims. They have a 7 of 10 rating for wear...

No idea on tires, but those wheels are nasty looking. I'm not a big fan of black wheels, but those are going to rock your Beastie Burb...

Re: Ordered my new wheels today

Set backs and delays right now. Hoping to get the tires by the end of next Month. Either BFG's or Cooper Contitrac's. My Alaska PFD will be here in less than a month too. Estimated to be about $1205.43 this year but will find out the ACTUAL amount by the
23rd (next Friday)

And the topper of it was we had a customer that just wasn't happy with the look of his Cooper Discoverer tires (size 265/70R17) that he bought a new set of BFGoodrich's and I got his old ones for NOTHING!!!! Gonna get'em mounted up this Friday (payday) and as promised I will get before and after pics of OL' BLUE for y'all!!!!

Well I didn't get before pics but here's the after ones for ya. I did notice the the front tires stick out a bit further than the rears do. and they ARE all the same tires/wheels/backspacing.

Re: Ordered my new wheels today

Cooper makes a great tire, good choice for sure. My truck is the same way, in fact, all 4x4's are. The track width on the front axle is noticeably wider than the rear. I like what you did with the Burb though, it's definitely an eye catcher.

Re: Ordered my new wheels today

Yeah i never noticed the track differance before. And I have been getting all kinds of comments on the wheels all of them good so far. Now I gotta concentrate on getting my studded snows for my factory rims LT235/85R16 cooper discoverer studded @ $187.90 ea plus tax ($2.50 per tire for new tire tax and $5.00 each for stud tax)
Gotta get'em one at a time over the next 5 paychecks then back to getting a new set of summer tires for these because the ones I have now will not last a full year.
They're better than what I had though...cords were showing through the treads on my old tires!!!!

Re: Ordered my new wheels today

If it bothers you, you could always get some billet spacers for the rear wheels.

nah it doesn't bother me in the least bit just thought it odd since I've never noticed it before.
As far as using spacers go... If it don't fit right without them, then it's the wrong part for the job. Don't like 'em never have never will.
