Now you know why the VIN is missing from the cab, the cab might not be original.
The doors and the rear view mirror would certainly have me digging deeper. Edit: Also, how does paint rub away? My guess is there was improper prep and it has chipped off. How much more is going to chip off? That is a great looking truck, but it better be a deal.
