heater core

Ok, Im a dumb ass, I cant get the top of the heater off to replace the core. Do I have to drill out the two rivets near the firewall, that seems to be whats holding it on. Seems like with all the screws you wouldnt need rivets. Thanks

Re: heater core

there are screws along the back, you have to remove box from firewall to access them.

Re: heater core

I just removed my heater box.
You have to remove all the bolts along the top of the box and then you have
2 nuts that are located inside the cab. After, this you can remove the box and at this point you have access to the remaining hardware. This will allow you to remove the top of the heater box and access your core.
