Holley carb throttle linkage

My son-in-law's dad put a V8 in my C20. The other day, the throttle linkage broke off & I wasn't sure where to put it. I asked a neighbor who works on older Chevy trucks about it & he made a suggestion. We bolted it on, but now the accelerator pedal is really hard to push. Does anyone have a pic of where this is supposed to go? Thanks for all the help in advance. It's a Holley 600 4 barrel. I'll try to take a pic after work.

Sounds like the throttle arm is down to low causing the hard petal, pics would help or maybe a crayon drawing ,anything.
