Carpet, heat shield AND sound deadener? - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Since I have to replace the carpet in the '67, I wanted to do Fatmat at the same time. Someone recommended doing a heat shield as well. Is this going to give the carpet a "mushy" type feel from so many layers? Is this over kill or would you recommend doing the whole kit and kaboodle?

I just did the fatmat and am pretty happy. I think I'm going to follow Locos lead before the carpet goes in. :http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...444746&page=19
