700R4 Lock Up Problem
Afternoon everyone. Well i have ben having an issue with my convert being (what appears) to be locked up all the time. I crank up the truck and put it in any gear and the motor bogs bad but doesnt die but very close. Just loads up bad. This is in the OD, 3, 2, 1, and Reverse.
I unhooked the electrical connection to the trans and tested and got the same results. Orders a TCC solenoid and tested, same think. Am i to believe that the Converter Actuator Valve could be stuck? Anyone have any pointers on this would be awesome.

Re: 700R4 Lock Up Problem
Was the trans recently rebuild? It sure sounds like the lockup circuit is hanging up. The valve maybe the limit valve is hung up. Better or worse when tranny warms up?

Re: 700R4 Lock Up Problem
Or it could be the tcc apply valve sticking in the pump. If I remember correctly that the only way it will lock converter in low gear or reverse. That would be my best guess. If you pull the lockup valve out, remove remove the snapring and the little disc , you should be able to see the valve .

Re: 700R4 Lock Up Problem
Trans was not recently rebuilt and the Converter is new.
I guess as a last ditch effort before pulling, i will pull the pan again and check the Apply Valve and see if it is stuck. Then i guess try another converter maybe. Will update Saturday evening with my findings
