Opinions on Eastwood's TIG 200 ac/dc welder
I am considering jumping up from my Lincoln mig welder to a tig set up. I have never tig welded before and am not really in a position to spend a small fortune to learn. Was wondering if anyone had any practical experience with Eastwood's tig 200 machine? It's on sale on their site for 799$ with free shipping right now.
Thoughts?

Re: Opinions on Eastwood's TIG 200 ac/dc welder
Don't have any experience with that particular machine, but your local welding shop "should" be able to hook you up also. (they may price match and let you walk out of the store with it.)
That being said, 95% of my TIG work was done with a standard D.C. stick welder. I couldn't do alum with it, but carbon and stainless all day. (Contractors aren't going to purchase a dozen stand alone machines just for this purpose, though fab shops may) Kinda like auto-darkening welding hoods, nice but not "necessary".
