wiring question

could somebody please help me? can I wire the stock temperature gauge direct to the sending unit without going through the circuit board ? and which wire goes where?

1st disconnect it from circuit board. ( check which post is hot--trace it on the board.) Then hook hot side to switched connector on fuse panel--other side to sending unit.
