linkage question, ideas, brainstorming

I installed a 38 Weber on my 59 Apache 235 inline six ... homemade linkage, pictured, doesn't open quite far enough.

Any ideas on how that linkage can be improved?

Thanks!

If you shorten up the pivot, it wouldn't require as much travel of the pedal.

So, if you could move the hole for the linkage rod closer to the center of the gold pivot, you should get more overall travel of the throttle plates for a given amount of travel in the pedal.

I agree but it will make the throttle touchier so go easy.

Undo the linkage and have someone floor it. Measure how high it goes and compare to how far the carb needs to be when wide open. Relocate the rod to that position.

If it is working right now and the pedal feels good about all you may want to work on is making it look nicer but that is up to you.
We will get our laughs back over Entourageguy at the gas pumps when we have change left over for a pop and snacks and he doesn't
