68 vs 71 frontend
I have a 71 however I have the opprotuninty to pick up a 68 parts truck. It has a good frontend on it and I was thinking of swapping them. Any comments on which looks better.

Re: 68 vs 71 frontend
i'll bet the consensus says its totally up to your opinion, you'll have staunch 71-72 fans and as many 67-68's. Don't know about the middle child the 69-70, never cared for that myself, but on here there are some awesome ones. I'm in the middle of switching mine to a 67....thats my vote!

Re: 68 vs 71 frontend
I always love the 71-72 until I got a 70. Now, I think the bar in the center of the grille on the 69-70 gives it a lot more character than the newer grille. I like the way the chrome breaks up that big plastic grille.
HOWEVER, with that said... I have planned a '68 front clip for my upcoming 2wd blazer project. I think a lot of it depends on what route you are taking your build. But, in my opinion... I would say that the 67-68 is the hot setup right now for the modern resto's. If you are asking yourself... what would Chip Foose do, you may wanna go '67-68.

Re: 68 vs 71 frontend
Although I have 72 truck my favorite front end is the 68 Chevy. I'm looking and bidding on this one right now and if I get it I might swap to the 68 Chevy front end.

Re: 68 vs 71 frontend
Thanks for the feedback everyone. If I end up with this parts truck I thinks I will switch them out. Now so I dont screw up like I did with my doors , no difference between the burb and truck when it comes to the front end?

Re: 68 vs 71 frontend
No problems taking stuff from the fronts of all the diffrent trucks if you do the full clip. There are diffrent core suports and stuff like that. But if you take it all your set. I put a 1967 GMC front on my 1970 sub. No problems. But my other 2 trucks sport the 67-68. Its all about the slant hoods for me.
