Take-off tailgate and band for sale

Just saved this from a chicken coop a month back. Story I got was it was on the truck for one month and then sent to the rafters of the chicken coop. Gate is 100% straight and only has two small dings from being moved around? A little surface rust/pits, but perfectly straight. Asking $400 + roughly $100 shipping.
I also have the band for sale. Aluminum is very nice, wood grain fair and letters a bit pitted. First $100 + roughly $30 shipping.

teeitup has first shot, 67LS1 has second, 1968 SWBBigBlock third, Camaro_Nut2001 last.

It appears to be Lt Red.
Deal is pending, but I'll let all know if it falls through.

Not trying to be rude, but why post this for sale here if you already have three guys in line before you list it? Seems like it was already sold when you listed it. Just my observation.

Re: Take-off tailgate and band for sale

1968SWBBig Block, the gate is yours if you want it. 67LS1 backed out.
Price is $450 for gate and band plus $85 for shipping.

Re: Take-off tailgate and band for sale

mcbassin - I had replied to a want ad on the site for a gate and these guys all PM'd me about the gate. Instead of sending pics to each reply, I posted an add and put everyone in line, by date of reply.
Not sure where you're coming from but sounds like "sour grapes" 'cause your at the bottom of the list.

Guys I think you are being unfair - DA68 was responeding to a wanted add - I did not want to hi jack the wanted thread from the member that posted it - so I sent him a PM as did some other members.
Rather than keep it on the PM trian DA moved over to a for sale add out in the open for everyone to see, and posted who was in line.
From everything I see he kept it as above board as anyone could given the way this came about.

No sour grapes at all and I never asked to be in line because I saw so many already there. It's just the fact I have never seen a waiting list on a just posted thread. I meant no insult. I was unaware of another wanted ad thread.

Sorry, I wasn't trying to start any trouble. It looked to me like it was sold before this thread was started. Misunderstanding on my part. I'm not a big fan of PM sales.

Re: Take-off tailgate and band for sale

No problem Mike. It all came about in a round a bout manner and I thought I was doing the right thing. They expressed interest in a PM, so I then posted the ad, but wanted to honor the order in which they responded. I don't think anyone did anything wrong, it just came together a little odd.

The gate has been sold, but the band is still available. $100 + shipping takes it.

DA68...I see you listed the tail gate band in a separate thread so I'm going to lock this one so things don't get confusing....
