Any idea where to find a 1960 - 63 automatic crossmember and drive line for a 1962 chevy small block with a turbo 350 short bed? Found one on eBay but it is ridiculously priced.

bigdog,

I just got finished with a conversion in my K1000....
I learned a bit on that project.

I have a 2 wheel drive shorty sittin in my yard that was set up as an automatic.

Q:
Are we talking about a two wheel drive....?
I can take a couple of pic's of the X-member that was in that one....
Very simple.....flat.
Of all the X-members I've ever seen....this one would be the easiest to fab.

Let me know.

Re: Cross member

Post number 15 on the attached thread shows a simple method to create one without welding, and you can use the stock frame holes if desired:

Re: Cross member

I'm not sure of the difference in size and length of a Turbo 350 and a 700R-4 , but Bowtie Overdrives sells a Crossmember for the 700R-4 trans in the Crossmember Section of there Catalog .. Listed for a 60-63 Suburban , but is suppose to fit our Trucks .. Picture shows it having the angled frame mount sections with holes .. I'm probably going that route .. Just my 2 cents ..

Heres there link : http://www.bowtieoverdrives.com
