Power brake conversion

I want to convert my '80 with manual brakes over to vacuum power brakes. Do I need to swap a vacuum power brake pedal as well, or can I get away with my manual brake pedal for the time being?

I've also been looking at auto trans brake pedals - truck was originally a 3 on the tree - because when the truck was converted to a TH350 some time ago, the PO just took off the clutch pedal, so it looks kind of awkward with the small brake pedal. I'm wondering, is there's a difference in hydroboost vs. vacuum pedal ratios?

Thanks!

Re: Power brake conversion

Id find an auto pedal assembly from salvage and take the pedal assembly all the way to the master cylinder just to be safe....

Re: Power brake conversion

I already have a vacuum booster - a guy I bought some '80 parts from had a booster from another mid-80s square. The '80 that the parts came from was a manual-trans truck with vacuum power brakes, so I didn't want the pedal assembly because I want the big pedal for my auto trans. I have a line on an auto trans square with power brakes, but my buddy doesn't know yet if its vacuum or hydroboost, and I was wondering if there's even a difference in pedal ratios, or if I can just go ahead and have him yank it for me
