steering column question

Does anybody know if I can put a 70 c10 steering column in a 60 Apache ? Mabey at rag joint or more to it ? Thanks

I got mine from a 70's van the trucks would be fine too , be sure to get the intermediate shaft with it also. you can then collapse the shaft to fit needed distance, was a nice swap.

It won't be a direct bolt in, but it won't take a whole lot to make it work. Like brawley said, get everything from the steering wheel to the steering box. Get both sides of the electrical plug too if you can.

The mounting bracket under the dash is different, and the 2 mount holes that thread into the column need to be moved back about 1.5". I used the original '64 mount bracket so I could be assured that the brake switch location was still in the original location. You also have to do a little cutting on the mounting bracket so everything will clear.

I was about finished with doing this very same mod on my '64, but I found an original automatic column. I still have the 67-72 column outer shell and the modified bracket if you get to a point where you need any further info.
