Door Hinge Spring 'S' Shape...Installation.
I've heard of people installing these while the door is still on the truck.
I bought 86' C10 recently and the driver side was missing this spring, I bought the 'S' "hold door open" spring and have fiddled with getting it into place and have almost given up. Is there a good method to doing this; tool? Any help appreciated. Thanks |

I did this with a pry bar and a dead blow hammer on my suburban. Both springs were missing when i bought the truck. I got ones from the junkyard. No problem.

I tried putting it on without taking the door off, with no success. I ended up taking the door off and using a pry bar to slip the spring into the slots. It's still holding up after I used an Oxy-Acetylene welder to put the spring back together.
