finally, Pix of my new 78 blazer

It took a while but here is what I bought last month. Nicely loaded, decent running but I have been fixing somebody else's idea of repair work. I have also replaced the 86 steering column with one like it came with, tilt, cruise

Here goes,

Steve

copy of the SPID, I am going to load it up with everything factory available in 78. I got the right steering column, bought the heavy duty engine and trans oil coolers, should be here tomorrow and also the P/S cooler. Found the am/fm stereo but need to find factory speakers.

I paid 800 for the truck and am going to do it on the cheap, fix the little rust do a few more repairs and drive it. I have done to many "projects" that ended up apart and then packed into my shop.

If you have time, check out my when is enough enough. Still in the process of getting rid of stuff......and i bought a 66 swb on Saturday, that drives pretty good.

What else's can I get that came factory, and maybe the rpo?

Thanks,
Steve

Re: finally, Pix of my new 78 blazer

whoops, here is the spid. It is far from perfect but interesting options and I had a 78 burb parts truck and then bought a 79 pu for parts too. The parts trucks were cheaper than what they would go for scrap, and they are fully optioned with lots of rust but the burb has 67,000 miles and runs great, the pu is 1/2 4x4.

The only real major things were the wiring, fixed, an 86 column, fixed and a 327 instead of the original 350 but the have a 78 350 complete with all the a/c stuff, working in the burb.

I did mostly 72 and older and i like how it is easier and cheaper to do these trucks.

Damn it...where do all you guys find the 2wd blazers? All I see near me are 4x4's...the only 2wd's are like $5000 plus even if they are crumpled up rust buckets. I see from your spid your blazer had a rear stabilizer bar...if I ever spot a 2wd blazer in the junkyard (maybe the same day I go fishing and catch a mermaid) Ima check for a rear sway bar for my truck.

X2 all the 2wd blazers around here are about the same shape and 3000-4000. Nice find.
