1962 Chevy C20 Lift?

I just picked up a couple of '62 C20's, to make one good driver. i understand it has torsion bar suspension in the front. My question is this; can I lift this truck about 3 to 5 inches, and how? Thanks in advance!

Re: 1962 Chevy C20 Lift?

Sorry no one piped in. You can lift buy cranking up the bars but the ride is going to get stiffer, a lot stiffer depending on how high you lift it. My brother did that to his 62 1/2 ton and it was very harsh.

If your going to do it, make sure you lube and oil screw and block assy. 50 years of crud will strip the bolts.
