F44 option: EGR?
I have a 1977 C10 with the F44 option... does anyone know if this is supposed to have an EGR valve?
From what I understand, the "heavy half" trucks did not have catalytic converters, but I'm not sure about an EGR valve. The smog places here in SoCal are giving me a hard time about this stuff for the first time in about ten years... |

Re: F44 option: EGR?
The answer to this question is no.
California emission C10's did NOT come with an EGR valve or catalytic converters. Anybody else in California that gets a hard time from their smog tech should point out their GVWR on the vin plate in the doorjam. |

Re: F44 option: EGR?
It may not matter whether or not the F44 option is there. I spoke to the smog tech today, and for light trucks year 1977, GVWR over 6001 lbs cats and egr valve are not required in California.
