Converting from 4wd to 2wd

Can I do this by simply changing out the front cross member? I believe the frame on a 4wd is arched more or something.

Re: Converting from 4wd to 2wd

It would litterally be easier to swap your frame to a 2wd frame.

Re: Converting from 4wd to 2wd

I am looking at buying the crew cab project off 72supercheyenne. The frame he has is a 4wd. I have a 2wd parts truck that I can take everything off of. I believe these frames are different and do not know if it's possible to use the 2wd cross member and a arms in place of the 4wd stuff.

Yes, that is correct. I don't suppose it matters. I have a welder and if it's different I dan cut the frame off and put the 2wd section in it.

Thats a little different, I thought your OP was about a complete truck. Should be relatively easy then, but youll need more than just the front cross member.
