Where do ya'll buy wheels

I'm startin on my frame off build on my '69 in a few more weeks & I'm goin back with a wider tire in the back. I've been lookin on here at some wide wheels under our trucks without havin to tub the rear, talked to a couple of our members, done some measurein & I need to know where ya'll buy your rear wheels. I'm runnin a ProStar lookin wheel made by Pacer right now & would like to keep the same wheel design. If I have measured right I'm gonna be able to go with a 15X14 with it looks like a 8.5 BS. Other than Summit or Jegs where do ya'll get your custom aluminum wheels?

Re: Where do ya'll buy wheels

I think that 8.5" backspace is going to kick your butt!!!! Pick any wheel manufacturer / style you want because I beleive your looking at a custom on-off wheel
(get out the pocket book, last custom wheel I had made was $750 per wheel.. OUCH!)

DANG!!!! That's a little much for my wallet, lol. I can get a 12" ProStar with 7.5 BS thru Summit or Jegs but I was really wantin a 14" wheel. I'm gonna be doin some cam & head changes to my big block while it's out & would like as much meat on the ground as possible. This is more of a street truck but I do want to see what it will run at the track to get it tuned in a little better not to mention, I love the look, lol. I'm keepin an eye on Yellow Bullet & Racing Junk & also have an ad on my local CL. If I could find the 14" in a different style used I would buy the matchin front wheels, say like a Drag Lite or something.

Re: Where do ya'll buy wheels

I did the 8.5" BS on my rear wheels. 15x12 Diamond racing beadlock wheels. They are steel, but probably half the price that some of alum wheels are.

Check centerline wheels website. They have an area called wheel deals some are cheap and some are not but some are offered in custom offsets?

Re: Where do ya'll buy wheels

Well, after measurein one last time, I bought my wheels today. I went with Billet Specialty 15X12 with 7.5 bs & also ordered my Hoosier tires 31/16.5/15. I got both wheel tubs off tonight & if I get back from pickin some parts up for my '89 from one of our members I'm gonna cut the bed floor & mock up my tubs so I can cut em. I'd like to have them done so they will be ready after the wood bed install. I do want to thank ya'll for all your advice on locating wheels. I'm thinkin real hard about doin a build thread from when I first got my truck. I took some pictures today.

How much room would you say ya got left on the bed side of the tire? I measured & remeasured about 4 times & if I can still read a tape the 16.5 will tuck & it's gonna be pretty close.
