Tires: 98 K1500
Looking to buy tires for my 98 K1500 soon. I have been looking around a little and found a few im interested in. My question is: It has 265/75-16's If i buy 245/75-16's will that affect my speedometer reading? Im asking this because im going to 3/4 ton 6 lug steel wheels and they are 16x6 1/2. Seems like all the 265 tires want a min 7" width rim. Any of the 245's you can have a 6 1/2 width. And 245's are cheaper. Can you put a 265 tire on a 6 1/2 wide rim?
Thanks Tom |

No because that is the width and not the hight, if you went to a 245/45/16 or 245/85/16 then yes it could.
i have 265's on stock '02 wheels |

I've had 285s on a stock 6.5" rim. I wouldn't worry about putting 265s on. What type of tires are you looking for? All season, mud, etc.?
