Not bad for a beginner

Making head way on the hood seam. Got all the holes filled, smoothed, bondo and primed. not bad for a rookie.

looks good , bulbuous and concave objects are the hardest to straighten out i suggest you make it shiny using water and look at it in the daylight

Nice job but I agree on putting a dark shiny surface on there to see if you have any waves. Black primer and water will do the trick. I have the reverse problem from yours. I want to have the front emblem on my hood but the PO has removed it and filled in the dimples. If he left them I can grind out the filler but if welded in I suppose I will have to be emblemless.

Re: Not bad for a beginner

maibe you can have the emblem airbrushed on
the only other way i would try is make a cardboard template using the hood from a stock truck to punch the holes in it transfer it to youre hood and drill the holes , that works even if he welded them shut

realy nice looking truck btw

Re: Not bad for a beginner

Put your hood up for trade on Craiglist.
Lots of guys wouldn't mind you doing all the work for them and, hopefully, you can get a nice stock one in return!

Thanks.....I have the truck in pieced right now and am going to look for the dimple locations. I like the template route and hope the dimples are still there.
