Springless Dana 60 Hi Steer Arms
Thought I would break this topic out from another thread I have. Looking into going to a springless setup on my Dana 60 Steering arms. It looks like I could just drill my arms and install a set screw and add some bronze bushings to replace the springs. This would save me from having to get another set of caps for $120
Any thoughts guys

6600DURAMAX what steering arms do you have? Here are some ideas for you...
This is a great alternative solution depending on your arm design: http://www.ballisticfabrication.com/...it_p_1693.html Here are the arms I have: http://www.ballisticfabrication.com/...es_p_1246.html

Re: Springless Dana 60 Hi Steer Arms
I have the BlueTroch Fabworks Arms, those caps would work kind of, BTF arms are made a little different. I am thinkg about just drilling out my arms and installing the set screw and a spacer (right now I have a hole where my spring sets up into) to preload the poly bushing I already have. Question
1.What size is the set screw in your arms? I think all the above would work and save me from sending $120 ish on new caps I am also calling BlueTocrh today and see if the make a solid cap with no spring hole

Re: Springless Dana 60 Hi Steer Arms
Here is another option...not as fancy as Ballistic, or BTF, but it gets the job done.
http://pirate4x4.com/forum/showthrea...ngless+dana+60 not too bad price-wise either. I was able to get a crossover arm (milled 10* and TREs) and cap shipped for $100. |
