question on disc to drum install on 66 (Please ASAP working on it now)
im putting the kit on my 66 and im doing one side at a time. after installing the first side i noticed i couldn't turn it right by hand very fa, i looked behind it and it was hitting the bottom control arm. so i looked at the original side and the littlie metal stud that is hitting is way shorter then on the new spindle. Do i kust cut it to the old spindle size. Please help working on it now. thanks.

Re: question on disc to drum install on 66 (Please ASAP working on it now)
It sounds to me like you should call Brothers in the AM and see what they have to say. There are a few different spindles that you could have, so it is hard to diagnose on the internet not knowing exactly which spindle you have.
IMO if you are not going with a dropped spindle, you are better off with a OEM spindle.

Re: question on disc to drum install on 66 (Please ASAP working on it now)
I had a similar situation with my '66 except my problem was the opposite. When I turned the wheels to the right the inside rim of the drivers side wheel drug on the lower control arm. I found that the LCAs were different in that the passenger side arm had a notch formed in the lower part of stop that is shown in the photo causing the wheels to turn too far to the right before the tang on the spindle contacted the stop. I replace the passenger side LCA with one off another '66 that did not have a notch in the stop like that driver's side arm and no more problem. It was my understanding that all the LCAs from '63 and up were the same but after my experience I don't believe that to be true. My truck was converted to disc brakes and 15" wheels by a p/o so I have no idea what year the passenger side LCA came from. Perhaps you have the spindles that mate with the notched stops.
