another acquisition possibly

here's a truck my buddy called me to come look at yesterday
it's a 2wd with a 454ci bb, sm465 and a NP205 t-case, it seams to me that someone started a 4x4 conversion and never finished, the hump is out of a 4 wheel drive and the rear is a 14bolt that has 4:56 with a Posi according to the owner (this isn't a face that I know just what I was told) the body is sound and has very little rust

I think it may be worth scooping up for parts what yall think

Re: another acquisition possibly

shoulda added that it is $400 and the motor possibly has a spun main, but I figured the box and trans+t-case is worth that not to mention any other salvagable parts

Re: another acquisition possibly

For $400 I'd buy that tomorrow. That's a deal in just sheet metal alone, let alone transmission, transfer case, and other parts.

Parts or build, it's definately a good buy. I'm partial to single cabs myself.

be better if there was a drive shaft and front dana 60 hooked to the NP 205 in it, but it's nice steel and lots of good parts

Re: another acquisition possibly

keep that rear bumper if it's the same one that's on my c10 it will take a beating and is easy to repair if you should be rear ended. It should be a Hercules bumper, Pelham, Georgia 12k pull 1200lb tongue weight.

my friend I keep no factory bumpers, I design and build heavy duty aftermarket bumpers for a living nothing I own will have a factory bumper unless I'm building a low-rider being as I've had my bumpers in 45mph crashes without damage to them other than scuffed powder coating. although thanks for the interesting info on it but any factory bumper isn't for me

I'd buy it just because it has a Brodie knob on the steering wheel.
