Brake Pedal Not Springing Back?
Has anyone every had an issue with the brake pedal not popping back out after being pressed.
I seems that after pressing the brake I have to used my toe to pull the pedal out, cause the brakes are still engaged. Has anyone else had this issue? Is there a heavy duty brake pedal spring avaliable?

Re: Brake Pedal Not Springing Back?
Assuming you have power brakes, you could have a bad booster, or the linkages on the back side of the booster could be bound up, the pin holding the rod to the pedal could be bound up, if any of these pins were replaced with bolts and nuts, they could be too tight causing a bound up condition.

Re: Brake Pedal Not Springing Back?
You didn't say if it has power brakes but if you do, you can remove the valve rod and poppet/punger and see if it's rusty. You can polish with sand paper and lightly lube it.
Mine had a lot of grime from being driven on dirt roads and rusty. Had to remove it and clean it. |

Thanks. Yes I have power brakes. Unfortunetly the whole set up I have is new and only has 28 miles on it. I will see if the linkage under the dash is binding somewhere. I may spray the moving parts with lubricant.

It sounds like your return spring is either broken or missing. One end of it fastens in a bracket right by the brake light switch and the other end fastens up by the firewall. It will be white or blue in color. If you need one let me know and I will send you one. If the spring is there, what the other guys said... LockDoc
