Re: smoked lights
I had a guy here who painted his tail lamps, park lamps and headlamps on his 04 Silverado. Then again he also had 20% tint on his entire front windshield. Sort of a weird guy, someone who was always asking for trouble.

Had some photos, thought I'd upload them so you could see.

Re: smoked lights
Tail lights I have no problem with being tinted, but I just cant see the logic in doing so with the headlights. I do however like that truck.

Re: smoked lights
I always loved how blacked out lights looked. Unfortunately it's illegal as stink in Colorado so it's not an option for me. Keep up the pics guys, your trucks look awesome!!!!

Re: smoked lights
Bodyshops up here put a few drops of black paint (or what ever color you prefer) into a clearcoat then spray the lenses with that. All depending as to how much of a tint you want dictates how much color to add to the clearcoat. I had all my lenses smoked. Front, side markers, taillights & clearance/cab lights.

Re: smoked lights
Just remember...it's not at night visibility that matters.....ITS DURING THE DAY!!!!
When shaded smartly and in moderation, it's a nice good looking mod. BUT, 9 times out of 10, those who shade, literally BLACK THEM THE EFF OUT. Thus my reasonings for being a "niteshade" hater at my *shrug* Ford forum. I personally used to have a set of lightly shaded tails on my DD. Then I nearly rear ended a guy with literally black tails. You COULD NOT see his brake lights at dusk. I can't imagine those gross things during dusk, overcast, and rainy conditions. It's likely if rear ended, it would be deemed your fault. Tossed on stock tails and LED's and they're bright as balls....and not gay shaded (remember, I'm a hater! lol) baggedcten's look great. Quote:
Maybe not seriously, but holy hell that Chev is straight up gross. Doesn't matter if it's got HID's and LED's everywhere...

Re: smoked lights
you dont have to see brake lights to tell if someone is slowing down. I think some people will find something in anything to whine about. That being said..........I dont have tinted tails because i dont want to be rearended lol!!!!

Re: smoked lights
I didn't wet sand/clear mine....yet... but they fit well with the tailgate panel IMO. I think I'd rather a 1977-19080[?] panel without the black border though.
Also shot the front markers... I cheated with LED's in the tails, but everything is still significantly bright.
