wiper motor replacement

guys,
i bought a new wiper motor for my 1990 K-1500 4x4.
how does the wiper arm attach to the motor ? will i have to remove the valance under the windshield to unhook the arm, or is it all done by just removing the 3 bolts on the firewall ?
thanks

First your going to start by pulling off your wiper arms, then proceed to remove the 3 piece cowl. There is 6-8 Phillips screws that fastens the cowl, remove those and the cowl will lift off. Then you'll see the wiper linkage inside the cowl, the linkage fastens to the motor on a ball mount type set up. Loosen the two bolts on each of the linkage rods, there a 7/16" if i recall correctly. Loosen them enough so you can slip them off the motor's shaft and then go into the engine compartment, and remove the bolts fastening the motor assy to the firewall and unplug the electrical connector, then the motor assy. will pull right out. Then simply repeat those steps in reverse to install the new one! Hope this helps you out a bit!
