I'm not sure how you welded it and I'm not saying I'm a master welder by any means just going to school for it but for mig on thin metal if you want try this try vertical down If you ever get the chance I learned it from my teacher and it does make it easier, also helps doing the push technique as opposed to the pull or drag on thin metal but I can't do vertical down because its not allowed just a thought hope it helps
