Thoughts on this subject? Opinions for or against and why?

I would like to freshen up some items that are visible to the eye in normal view....like brake boosters...suspension parts and such....not into disassembling the truck for a ground up....but would like it to look nice.

Did anyone have good or bad experience doing this?

i dont think there is anything wrong with it, i did everything under the hood with spray cans, obviously hi heat stuff on the engine but inners and firewall, rad support etc all black, i think its great for a daily driver

however you do it to make it nice doesn't really matter does it ? it's YOUR truck and your money do it whatever way works for you

the biggest thing is the prep work theres no problem with doing it and you will get out of it only as much as you put into it. what im saying is clean up everything real good maybe even sand down rough spots and then go to town it will look 100% better if yours is like mine was

Just make sure you use a good quality paint.....i have had good luck with Dupli-Color paints. That $1 a can generic crap isn't good for very long.

Thanks everybody...

I like Dupli-Color and have been using that for awhile...not sure how to properly prep rear end and trailing arms while they are still on the truck...Looks like wire wheel/degreaser/prep-all/primer/paint.

If you want to feel really, really good about DupliColor, get an Eastwood catalog. Their prices for detailing stuff will make you feel good. However, they do have some stuff that I'd like to have, if money was no object.

You should see that OER stuff. There rattle cans are from $20 to $80 a can. It's great stuff but man can it hit the pocket hard.

Anyone know where to get VIP spray paint? We get it at work and no one will tell me where to get a can. This stuff is awsome.

The only problem with Spray paint (rattle can) I have heard that it does not have a hardner. So it does not seal mointure out as well.

If you have the time and money and you plan on keeping th truck looking nice I would go with a 2 part paint.

But that is what i would Do .... And have done
